How to Resize, Compress, and Convert Images (Free & Online)
Whether you're building a website, sending an email, or just trying to save disk space, large image files can be a real problem. You might need to convert a PNG to a JPG for a smaller file size, or resize a giant photo to fit a blog post, or compress an image to make your website load faster.
This guide shows you how to do all three—resize, compress, and convert—using the free and secure conver.tr Image Toolkit.
What Can The Image Toolkit Do?
The Image Toolkit is your all-in-one solution for common image tasks. And just like our PDF tool, it's 100% private. Your image is never uploaded to a server; all processing happens right on your computer.
- Resize: Change the dimensions (width and height) of your image. You can lock the aspect ratio to prevent stretching.
- Convert: Change the file format. Easily convert between JPG, PNG, and WEBP.
- Compress: Drastically reduce file size by adjusting the quality. This is perfect for web formats like JPG and WEBP.

Upload Your Image
You can either drag and drop your image file (PNG, JPG, WEBP, etc.) directly onto the drop zone, or click the "Choose Image" button. The toolkit handles one image at a time for precise control.

Choose Your Settings
Once your image preview appears, you can adjust the settings:
- To Resize: Enter your new Width or Height in the input boxes. Click the lock icon to toggle the aspect ratio lock on or off.
- To Convert: Select your desired format (JPG, PNG, or WEBP) from the "Convert to:" dropdown menu.
- To Compress: If you select JPG or WEBP, a "Quality" slider will appear. Drag it to the left to increase compression (smaller file size) or to the right for higher quality (larger file size). A value around 80-90% is usually a great balance.
